It’s that time of year again. The most anticipated game of the year, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, is set to be released tonight at 12:00. The game has experienced record numbers of preorders. The Hardened Edition, which gives consumers the game, founding father status for Call of Duty Elite and other commemorative treats, sold out within weeks. The game is much anticipated after a disappointing Call of Duty Black Ops game came out last year. This game has listened to its fans and has taken into account almost every desire of their fans.
Avid COD players have been asking for a way to flop between acquired kill streaks for several years. In Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, you can do just that. Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games, the makers of MW3, have added three different kill streak reward packages; the Assault, Support and Specialist Packages. These different packages allow the different types of players to be successful in the game. By doing this, MW3 will be less kills oriented and more evenly matched that any of their previous games.
Call of Duty Elite is being introduced to players who want to win prizes, keep track of their stats, meet other players and join different game plays all from their computer. Gamers can sign up for free or play $50 by November 8th, for “Founding Father” status. A Founding Father gets free DLC map packs, longer video sharing capabilities and much more. I am personally very excited about Call of Duty Elite. It looks like a great way to meet other players and show off your skills.
You normally don’t see many commercials for video games. Over the past few years, the Call of Duty franchise has been recognized for making commercials that catch the eyes of true gamers. This year, a MW3 commercial featured Jonah Hill and Avatar star Sam Worthington as actual real life COD players.
If you haven’t preordered your copy of Call of Duty MW3, I highly suggest you go out and buy it ASAP. I have never been let down by a COD game created by Infinity Ward. Now that they have joined forces with Sledgehammer Games, the COD franchise has taken off. For some of you, I will see you online tonight. For the rest of you, GO OUT AND GET YOURSELF THE GAME!
