I am happy to announce that BASKETBALL IS BACK!! It took long enough, but there was finally a deal that was made. After 149 long days, the new NBA CBA gives the owners and the players a 50-50 split of the league revenue. With the lockout in place, SportsCenter was finding it hard to talk about things when there wasn’t football being played. SportsCenter never talks about the NHL, so without the NBA there was little to talk about.
There are some key players on the NBA trading block. Two major athletes are Dwight Howard and Chris Paul. There a rumors that CP3 will be traded to the Celtics for Rajon Rondo. Chris Paul has stated that he would not sign a long term deal with the Celtics. The one team Paul wants to be traded to is the New York Knicks; however the Knickerbockers have little to give the Hornets. Although it would be great to see CP3 in a Knicks uniform, I find it highly unlikely. What he should do is try to team up with Dwight Howard and create his own “big three.” It is also believed that he will team up with Blake Griffin in L.A.
The NBA season kicks off on Christmas day. That weekend is going to be great. You have the Giants and Jets playing on Christmas Eve and the Knicks and Celtics playing on Christmas Day. I cannot wait for the season to start and I look forward to seeing the Knicks play after half of a season together last year.
